Brian Griffin Competition Trophy

This Trophy is made from a 1:18 scale model MGF and is named after Brian Griffin, the chief mechanic on the MGF. It was first awarded in 2008 and is given to a person who epitomises the essence of competition with their MGF/TF.

The award covers any form of competition from motor racing to Pride of Ownership, naviscats and treasure hunts. In fact, anything you can compete in with (or in connection with) your MGF/TF.

For consistent good work with the Regalia online shop, events, shows and MGCC racing support

2012 - Tim Morris

For instigating the Register’s Charity Fundraising from 2006. Register Chairman from 2008 until 2013. Chairman of MGF10 event in 2005 and then instigated and chaired the MGFest series from 2007 culminating in MGF15 in 2010.  Organised Hard Top Relay in 2012 culminating in over £10,000 being raised for charity since 2006

2013 - Nigel & Jo May

Constant support of the Register over many years, Support and help at Register events,  being Regional Reps for Somerset & Dorset Region and for taking on the Members Database at short notice.

2014 - Ron Kemp

For taking over the treasurer role and creating a new, simpler system of accounting.

2015 - Pete Opie

For rebuilding the main website and micro site.

2016 - Ian Wright

For organising Register events for Thames Valley and the main register, instigating multi-regional events.

2017 - David & Andrea Koskela

For supporting the MGF Register over many years both locally in the South East and nationally. Supported the Register through sponsorship of events and publicity through MGF racing and their own MGF dealership.

2018 - Michael Benecke

For promoting the club and the MGF in Germany and organising the Rhein Tours.

2019 - John & Christine Wilson

For supporting the Register over many years and continuing helping on show stands plus as South Coast Reps and committee positions.

2020 - Tim & Hazel Rowe

Tim & Hazel ran the Yorkshire successfully for several years but have now moved out of the area – now Tim is starting up a new region!

2021 - Rob & Jane Parry

Jane is the Register secretary and Rob a Regional Rep plus they regularly contribute to the Register’s shows and provide cars for display

2022 - Ian & Angie Wright

Continued enthusiasm in organising main events for the Register

2023 - Martyn Lucas

For improving, expanding and co-ordinating the Register’s presence at shows during the year
